Warm Halloween Ahead for Florida as Highs Reach the 80s in Tampa, Orlando and Miami Before Trick or Treaters Cool Into the 70s
ORLANDO, FL — Halloween is shaping up to be a warm one across Florida, with the latest forecast numbers showing warmer than average highs in the 80s for much of the state on Saturday, October 31. While these early projections remain subject to small changes, the overall signal points to a summer-like afternoon before temperatures ease during the evening. By sunset, when trick-or-treating gets underway, readings will cool into the lower 70s across the Panhandle and the lower 80s in South Florida.
Panhandle and North Florida Reach the Upper 70s and Low 80s
Across the Florida Panhandle, Pensacola is forecast to reach about 78 degrees, while Tallahassee climbs to around 81 degrees. In Northeast Florida, Jacksonville is expected to top out near 78 degrees, with Gainesville reaching about 81 degrees.
These readings are warmer than typical for late October in North Florida, though they will still be the most comfortable temperatures in the state. Evening conditions across the Panhandle are expected to drop into the lower 70s, making for pleasant weather for neighborhood festivities.
Central Florida Heats Into the Mid 80s
Central Florida will run warmer, with highs climbing into the low to mid 80s. Tampa is forecast to reach about 84 degrees, while Orlando tops out near 83 degrees. Along the Atlantic coast, Daytona reaches about 79 degrees, and Fort Pierce climbs to around 83 degrees.
The warmest location on the map is North Port in Southwest Florida, where highs could reach about 86 degrees, among the warmest readings anywhere in the state on Halloween.
South Florida Stays Hot and Humid
South Florida will remain warm from afternoon into evening. West Palm Beach is forecast to reach about 84 degrees, while Miami climbs to around 85 degrees. In the Florida Keys, Key West is expected to see highs near 84 degrees.
Unlike northern parts of the state, South Florida will cool only slightly after sunset, with evening temperatures holding in the lower 80s. Trick-or-treaters in this region should plan for warm and possibly humid conditions.
Costume Comfort and Safety Tips
With temperatures running well above average, families should consider lighter costumes and breathable fabrics, especially for young children. Carrying water during trick-or-treating is a smart idea, as warm evenings can lead to dehydration during long walks through neighborhoods.
Reflective tape, flashlights, and glow sticks remain important for safety once darkness falls, helping drivers spot children crossing streets.
Rain Chances Still Being Evaluated
Rain chances for Halloween have not yet been finalized. Forecasters will continue monitoring the pattern as the holiday approaches to determine whether showers could affect evening plans in any part of the state.
Residents planning outdoor parties, festivals, or trunk-or-treat events should check updated forecasts later in the week for any changes in temperature or rain potential.
A Warm Finish to October
The warm Halloween outlook caps off a month of mixed weather across Florida, including several refreshing cool mornings earlier in October. For now, the forecast favors a sunny and warm holiday afternoon followed by a comfortable evening for most of the state.
