West Ham United have completed the permanent signing of France international Estelle Cascarino from Juventus, following a successful loan spell at the club.

The 29-year-old defender has signed a three-year contract, committing her future to the Women's Super League side after making 12 appearances in all competitions during the second half of last season.

Cascarino's arrival coincides with a crucial period for West Ham as they aim to build on last season's 10th-place finish, having climbed away from the relegation zone largely thanks to her impact after joining in January. Her performances also earned her a recall to the France national team in February.

"I feel really happy to be back at West Ham United," Cascarino said. "I made the decision quickly that I wanted to be back here permanently. From the beginning, this club has felt like home. I enjoyed every minute of my time here. I'm looking forward to being here now for pre-season, to working with Rita and her staff and this group of players."

Manager Rita Guarino praised the capture, highlighting the defender's vital contribution to the team's survival last term.

"We're really pleased that Estelle has extended her stay with us," Guarino said. "It was very important that we retained a defender of Estelle's quality. Her impact when she arrived in January was crucial in us achieving our aim of securing our status as a WSL club. Her experience and ability will be crucial as we look to progress this season and I'm looking forward to working with her again."

Cascarino brings a wealth of experience, having won the Serie A title, Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana with Juventus during the 2023-24 season. She made 49 appearances for the Italian giants after joining in 2022, and previously played for clubs including Manchester United, Lyon, Paris Saint-Germain, Bordeaux and Paris FC.

Her decision to stay in east London represents a significant statement of intent from West Ham as they look to climb the WSL table and challenge for higher honors.
