Frank appeals for unity as pressure grows

Thomas Frank has asked for “calm heads” inside Tottenham after sections of the away support renewed calls for his dismissal following a frustrating draw at relegation-threatened Burnley.

As the final whistle blew at Turf Moor, Tottenham fans could be heard chanting “You’re getting sacked in the morning”, a pointed message aimed at the club’s hierarchy as well as the head coach. The reaction underlined the tension around Spurs’ season, with results continuing to lag behind expectations.

Tottenham’s latest setback leaves them with just two wins in their last 14 matches, a run that has stalled momentum and left them drifting in mid-table despite a squad that was assembled to compete far higher.

How the game unfolded

Spurs started brightly and looked set for a much-needed win when Micky van de Ven broke the deadlock. But Burnley, battling to pull clear of the bottom end of the table, responded with impressive resilience and turned the game on its head.

Axel Tuanzebe struck to level matters before Lyle Foster added a second, flipping the contest and piling pressure on Tottenham’s already brittle confidence. With Spurs staring at another damaging defeat, Cristian Romero stepped up late on to salvage a point, sparing Tottenham an even harsher post-match reckoning.

While the draw prevented a total collapse, it did little to quieten the growing unrest. Tottenham once again struggled to translate territorial control and spells of attacking play into a decisive advantage, an issue that has repeatedly haunted them throughout this difficult stretch.

Frank: ‘We did everything to win’

Frank defended his side’s approach afterwards, insisting Tottenham’s effort levels could not be questioned. “You can’t say we didn’t do everything to win,” he said, while urging those around the club to remain measured amid the noise.

The Dane’s comments were framed as both a plea and a warning: Tottenham’s problems will not be solved by panic, yet the atmosphere risks becoming increasingly combustible if results do not improve quickly.

With each disappointing performance, the scrutiny intensifies—on Frank’s tactical choices, on Spurs’ ability to handle adversity, and on whether the club’s decision-makers will stick with their current direction. For now, the head coach is calling for composure. But with frustrations boiling over in the stands, Tottenham’s next results may determine whether calm can realistically hold.
