Djed Spence has reportedly given the green light to join Inter, with Tottenham willing to sell the English full-back for a fee of €35 million.

According to Thursday's edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 25-year-old is keen on a move to the Serie A giants after emerging as their new primary target. Inter turned their attention to Spence following failed pursuits of Marco Palestra and Anan Khalaili.

Palestra ultimately completed a transfer to Chelsea, while Khalaili’s €25 million switch collapsed at the medical stage. Those setbacks forced the Nerazzurri to accelerate their interest in Spence, who progressed through the Tottenham academy and has since gained senior international recognition.

Personal terms not a problem

Personal terms between Inter and Spence are not expected to be an obstacle. The player is attracted by the prospect of regular first-team football and the chance to compete in the Serie A title race under Simone Inzaghi.

Tottenham’s asking price is set at €35 million, a figure Inter are willing to negotiate. The London club are open to a sale as they look to reshape their squad after a mixed domestic campaign.

Spence featured for England in their recent 2026 World Cup semi-final defeat to Argentina, enhancing his reputation on the global stage. His performances during the tournament underlined his readiness for a step up to a top European side.

The move would see Spence become the latest English player to ply his trade in Italy, following in the footsteps of the likes of Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham. Negotiations are expected to continue in the coming days as Inter aim to finalise the deal before their pre-season preparations intensify.
