Como have officially completed the signing of young defender Andres Cuenca from Barcelona, in a deal believed to be worth €0.5 million plus a percentage of any future sale.
The 19-year-old centre-back is a product of Barcelona's famed La Masia academy and has represented Spain at youth level, playing a key role in their recent European Under-19 Championship triumph. He also gained senior experience during a six-month loan spell at Sporting Gijon last season.
Cuenca has signed a contract that will keep him at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia until June 2030.

Como head coach Cesc Fabregas expressed his delight at the new arrival, telling the club's official website:
“Andrés Cuenca is a young defender with great technical ability, energy and strength. He has enjoyed an important journey through the Blaugrana youth academy system and made his first-team debut in the UEFA Champions League. A modern defender, he is comfortable in possession and confident on the ball. We believe he can develop significantly as part of our project, and we are delighted to welcome him to Como.”

The Lariani are preparing for their first-ever campaign in the Champions League after a historic Serie A finish last season. Cuenca joins fellow new signings like left-back Kaiki from Cruzeiro, midfielder Luis Milla from Getafe, and Mattia Liberali from Catanzaro as Fabregas looks to assemble a squad capable of competing on multiple fronts.
Barcelona, meanwhile, continue to trim their squad and balance the books, with the sale of an academy product providing pure profit under La Liga’s financial regulations.
