Leeds United have completed the signing of Bosnia-Herzegovina international defender Tarik Muharemovic from Serie A side Sassuolo in a deal worth £34.1 million, as confirmed by BBC Sport.
The 23-year-old has penned a five-year contract at Elland Road, becoming the club's second summer acquisition after the free transfer of Harry Wilson from Fulham.
Struijk replacement arrives
Muharemovic is seen as a direct replacement for Pascal Struijk, who joined Brighton & Hove Albion for £20m in June. Leeds have moved quickly to reinvest that fee and bolster their backline ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
World Cup experience
The centre-back featured for Bosnia-Herzegovina at the World Cup this summer, where he was involved in a memorable incident that saw Folarin Balogun of the USA sent off. Muharemovic himself received a red card in a group stage match against Switzerland.
