BBC confirms live coverage of both remaining matches

Football fans in the UK can look forward to comprehensive coverage of the last two matches of the FIFA World Cup 2026 on the BBC. Both the third-place play-off between England and France and the final between Argentina and Spain will be shown live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

England suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat to Argentina in Wednesday’s semi-final, while France were beaten 2-0 by Spain the day before. Those results set up a bronze final on Saturday and a showpiece final on Sunday, both of which will be free-to-air for UK viewers.

Match schedule and kick-off times

Third-place play-off: England vs France – Saturday, 22:00 BST

Final: Argentina vs Spain – Sunday, 20:00 BST

The final will also be broadcast live on ITV, giving viewers a choice of coverage.

How to watch on TV and online

Both matches will be shown on BBC One, with live streaming available via BBC iPlayer. Fans can also tune in to BBC Radio 5 Live for live audio commentary.

The BBC Sport website and app will provide full text commentary, in-game highlights, and clips of every goal as they happen. For those with compatible devices, an Ultra High Definition (UHD) feed will be available for an enhanced viewing experience.

Interactive 3D World Cup experience

As an added bonus, the BBC is offering its FIFA World Cup 3D experience on the BBC Sport website. This innovative feature allows you to take control of the camera angles, relive goals from your favourite player’s perspective, and follow tactical formations in real time, with stats and player data overlaid.

With so many ways to watch, football fans won’t miss a moment of the World Cup’s climax.
