Traore returns to Serie A
Genoa have officially announced the signing of midfielder Hamed Junior Traore from Olympique Marseille on a season-long loan with an option to buy, reported to be €10 million.
The 26-year-old Ivory Coast international returns to Italian football after a series of moves across Europe.

A journeyman career back on track
Traore began his career in the Empoli youth academy before making a name for himself at Sassuolo, from whom he joined Bournemouth in a €25.6 million deal in 2023. Injuries hampered his time in England, leading to loan spells at Napoli, Auxerre, and finally Marseille, who held a more modest €7.7 million purchase option which they declined to activate.
Multiple sources close to the deal confirm Genoa have now secured a straight loan with a €10 million option to buy at the end of the 2026‑27 campaign. The player completed his medical earlier this week and has signed his contract.
