Fiorentina have confirmed the departure of midfielder Amir Richardson, who joins French side Le Havre on a loan deal that includes an option to buy. The Serie A club announced the agreement on Wednesday, with the purchase option set at €8 million.
The 23-year-old joined Fiorentina from Reims in 2024 but struggled for regular playing time at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. A move back to Ligue 1 offers Richardson a chance to revive his career in familiar surroundings.
Le Havre, who finished mid-table in Ligue 1 last term, have been active in the market as they look to strengthen their squad. The club's management sees Richardson's physicality and technical ability as valuable assets for their midfield.
Deal structure
Loan duration: One season
Option to buy: €8m
Player: Amir Richardson
Clubs: Fiorentina to Le Havre
The loan move represents a low-risk gamble for Le Havre, who will have the opportunity to assess Richardson's impact before committing to a permanent transfer. For Fiorentina, it opens up space on the wage bill and reduces squad depth in a position where competition is fierce.
Richardson's departure continues a summer of change at Fiorentina, who are also reportedly targeting a Serie A return for Matteo Ruggeri as part of their own reinforcement plans.
He will hope to make his debut when Le Havre kick off their Ligue 1 campaign next month.
